The untimely death of the President, Dr Peter Johnson was recorded and recognition was paid to his tireless energy and hard work which had lead to the acquisition of the current playing fields. Much work had been left undone, but thanks to renewed vigour from Mr Dick Padfield and Dr Wilson (amongst others) a "Johnstone Memorial" fund was launched (Culminating in the official opening of the new pavilion on 15th December 1960).
It was proposed that Mrs Dudfield (Snr.) Might be willing to take over the vacancy of "Tea hostess" but her young son Tim stated that "although she maybe willing to help, she would be unable to take over entirely" (Wrong again Tim!)
The annual subscription was very high (10s 6d) and the match fee of 1s was scrapped as it only applied to non-subscription paying members who were brought in at the last minute (Hardly fair!)
Fund raising was more active in those days with "Bowling for the Pig", Whist drives and dances featuring prominently!
Recognising that there was insufficient interest from members of the Parishes to provide enough players for the team, it was agreed that "Outsiders" would be allowed to play.
However, this was on the proviso that the 1s per match fee was re-introduced for them! (Unanimously carried)
Attendance badly hit by darts match on the same night, lasted 30 minutes.
Mr J.N.T. Hulls assumed the role of President following the death of his Father

Brian Leeke was congratulated on his maiden century v Dowty Arle Court.
Chris Marmon was elected as vice President of the club in recognition of his commitment to the team over many seasons.
The meeting was held in the newly created Social Club.
The sad passing of Mr Eric Newman was recorded. Ram and Stewart Wallace had left during the season and their loss was also noted.
Roger was thanked for his work in organising the waste paper fund-raising exercise.
The tragic loss of sixteen year old Adrian Wellon from meningitis was recorded, and also the departure of Dave Pullen after many years service.
Tim Dudfield was congratulated on scoring 1000 runs in the season (How many games did he play?) and Mudasser Nasser (Esa) on scoring a century.
Following the loss of kit it was agreed that the captain would nominate one individual to be responsible for the kit, scorebook and scoreboard for each match (What a good idea!)
The two Tims ran an official youth team for the first time.
P.Tyrer and W.Phillips were congratulated on gaining a regular place and "doing so well" (Pity they couldnt keep it up).
Geoff Phillips was congratulated on his maiden century, Esa scored another, and Mike Harveys 9 for 27 was recorded.

The club had purchased a motorised roller (Wow!) Tim Phillips agreed to carry out necessary repairs before spring (Which Year?)
The club finished 3rd from bottom in the League and was relegated to the newly-formed Division II.
The Pre-season indoor nets were abandoned because of lack of support.
Jonathon Morgan and Dave King recorded maiden Half Centuries.
The club declined the opportunity to join the mid-week Cricket League.
The meeting was attended by only 7 players.
It was noted that Tim Phillips was the highest wicket taker in the league (Thanks to Paul and Wayne on the boundary ?)
Simon Davies also recorded the first League Century for the club.
Mrs Dudfield (Ma) was presented with a rose bowl in recognition of her many years as the tea lady.

The indoor Six-a-Side team lost to Newent B in the knockout final.
After one season at the top level the team was relegated to Division II (Hence "yo-yo" team), however, a league win against Apperley was recorded for the first time.
The presentation of annual awards was discussed but no conclusion was reached.
Tim Dudfield was welcomed back into the fold after a sabbatical with Aston Ingham.
Mark Aplin and Jonathon Hulls were thanked for coming into the Sunday team at short notice on a number of occasions.
The club agreed to embark upon its first cricket tour
Late arrival at the ground was to be penalised by umpiring duties (Brucies new tough approach, but there are worries that Oscar may become the clubs permanent umpire).
The Saturday captain welcomed a newcomer (Adam Newbold) to the club ranks .. And a cricketer at that.
He also thanked Tim Phillips for mending the equipment which he had kept breaking
R.Ainley as Sunday captain made reference to the prize scalp of Merseyside Police. Waynes batting received a special mention, and it was noted that Paul played better when hungover and playing on instinct as opposed to thinking about his game.
Mark Aplins bowling was given particular praise, in Ricks words he is "rapidly becoming a very good spin bowler" (How would Rick know?)
Beryls work as tea lady over many seasons was acknowledged, she would be sorely missed.
1993 Brucie was able to report on our most successful season in the league finishing 3rd and having been top for a period.
D.Goodman had joined the side mid-season and had put in some excellent performances. The "Star" however, was Adam "Oscar" Gresty whos 650 league runs including 2 centuries at an average of 59 earned him the 3D League Batting Award.
A change of venue saw the meeting take place at the Prince of Wales (just like old times), due to a lack of beer at the club.

In giving his Saturday captains report G. Bruce said that it had been quite a successful season bearing in mind that we had only managed to win one of our first nine games. (Good job we won our last seven games). He said that it had been good to see some new faces during the season, (D. Page & G. Trott), and welcome back some old ones. (J. Dudfield, J. Forcey - The Black Adder - But now greying). He also welcomed Mat Dudfield to and commented how this would strengthen the batting. (He was right).
Brucie then stressed the importance of the forthcoming seasons performance, as it would probably determine the standard of cricket that we would be playing in 1996. (The 3D country league will probably amalgamate with the 3D County league). He finished by thanking Alex for her work as scorer, and Charlie for producing some excellent wickets.
B.Weller gave the 2nd XI report, and said that it had been a successful first season, with 25 players being used in all. He -highlighted R. Ainleys two consecutive centuries, and how well M. Aplin, T. Knappet and P. Critchard had performed in their first league season.
